A life in color
Geetha's work is rooted in a close observation of everyday life, translating familiar scenes into compositions that foreground color, space, and quiet presence. As a child, she trained in art school, where her early drawings were recognized for their confident and expressive use of color.
Her current practice centers on still life and spatial compositions, shaped by the environments she inhabits. Through these works, she explores how space and objects are perceived, encouraging a reading that moves beyond the purely physical toward what is subtle, latent, and often overlooked.
A sensibility of stillness and solitude informs her palette, where gradations of greens, grays, and reds are balanced with soft earth tones. More recently, brighter hues and natural elements have entered the work, introducing a renewed vibrancy while maintaining its contemplative quality.
Her engagement with color began through painting on pottery and ceramics, eventually evolving into a sustained practice in oils on canvas.
